Tiara and Scott’s Bewong Wedding


This year the South Coast Wedding Fair together with Bewong River Retreat and with the help of a number of amazing local South Coast wedding suppliers gave away a “Win Your Wedding” prize pack – where one lucky couple won a full wedding package worth $25 000! There were so many deserving entries, but Tiara and Scott’s story struck a cord and they were the lucky winners.


Tiara and Scott have had a rough couple of years! Tiara lost both her parents within a few months of each other. She had to quit her job so she could fly to Cairns regularly to look after her sick parents. Just when things couldn’t get worse, Tiara was struck down with a serious illness herself and had to have major surgery. It was a slow recovery and with only one income, financially things were getting tough.

Scott took Tiara by surprise when he proposed at Lake Conjola on May 22nd, 2018, with her late mother’s engagement ring.  Before Tiara’s parents passed away Scott promised them that he would love and take care of their daughter forever.

Now, this string of bad luck could have had a snowballing effect of sadness and self pitty. But not with these two. With such a positive outlook on life with “life’s too short” as a motto, together they put their pain and hurt behind them and stepped outside each day making memories together and completely living in the moment! And, as if these two hadn’t been through enough – the week of their wedding was spent travelling between hospitals and overnight hospital stays with their youngest daughter. With their closest family and friends, this wedding was the perfect celebration they needed to put behind them a bad couple of years and solidify their love for each other.
